LIFE TOGETHER

THE GATHERED CHURCH

Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”  Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some…Those are sobering words.  But I’ve often wondered if the habit of neglecting to meet together is because we don’t know what we’re supposed to do when we meet together.  What should we expect?  Why is this important to God?  What are we to do?  And this is especially important when we think that gathered church is a spectator sport.

The Life Together Conference at CLF will be held at Jacoby Auditorium on the campus of Umpqua Community College on September 29th-30th.  At this conference, we will worship together, and we will study what “life together” in the gathered church looks like.  Our sessions will be informative and encouraging.  Here’s what you’ll learn:  we will talk about the church’s awareness of worship and prioritizing the gathering in their lives.  We will discuss the Spirit’s work among us and His empowering our gathering.  We will learn about why the gospel is to be central to all that we say, do, and sing at church.  We will be encouraged to keep the Bible as the authority in our gatherings and see why God has infused the Word of God with the power to change us.  And finally, we will learn about the most important person in our gatherings: God.
