What an amazing weekend. We had a packed house for our Christmas Eve service. Then Christmas Day is always filled with joy and wonder. We enjoyed our traditions of the Christmas story, prayer, stockings, gifts, and cinnamon rolls, followed by extended family gifts and a huge meal (smoked brisket was definitely a winner). And then Sunday comes around with about 6 inches of snow on the ground. As packed as church was on Friday, it was as unpacked on Sunday…But things must go on. So we did our two services and had a great time. I’m grateful that so far, we have not had another Snowpocalypse, and we haven’t had huge power outages yet. But it was an awesome weekend.
Since Mondays are my day-off, we made homemade sleds (out of 2×4’s, 2×6’s, and tin roofing) and went to our front field to pull those with our 4-wheelers. What a great day. Below, I’ve sent you a picture of our sleds and a video. Best ones we’ve ever made:). I’d love to hear your best-made sled ideas!
Redemptive History:
I hope you enjoyed our Advent series. My hope in this series was to give us some biblical theology and see how redemptive history plays out, leading up to Jesus’ coming. Personally, I was freshly affected by this series. I was reminded of great truths of God’s love for us in Christ, of the wonderful thought that we can experience the joy and peace that’s in the Godhead, and how Jesus really is the Genesis 3 Champion. It was a great privilege to walk through this with our church.
Looking ahead to 2022:

- Theological Foundations I and II begin in January. TF I is the 1st Thursday of each month, and TF II is the 3rd Thursday.
- “The Truth Project” begins January 9th at 5:00. This is a wonderful Worldview class led by Dan Sieker. This class will meet each Sunday for 12 weeks.
- “The Bible and Ancient History” begins on January 11th at 6:00 p.m. This class will study how the Bible relates to Ancient History and is led by Daniel Ritchey. This class will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
- “Financial Peace,” led by Toby Luther, begins January 26th at 6:00 p.m. This class will help you get a handle on your money and budgeting. The cost is about $130, and will meet every other Wednesday for 12 meetings.
Also, in 2022, here’s what we’ll study on Sunday mornings:
- “Redemptive Relationships”: how can we walk in unity and love with one another.
- “Life in the Church”: a study of 1 Timothy
- “United with Christ”: a study of Romans 5-8
- “Prophets in Exile”: a 12-week study of the Minor Prophets (one prophet/Sunday)
I can’t wait to get started. This Sunday, we will study relationships before the Fall. We’ll go back to Genesis to see why God made us and how He made us to relate to one another.

- I think we’re beginning to see the end of the Bowl structure in college football. With COVID, players dropping out because of NFL aspirations, and other pressures, I think we’re seeing the beginning of the end.

- Man City has scored 17 goals in their last 3 matches…that’s good, right? And a great upcoming weekend for the English Premier League: Chelsea/Liverpool and Arsenal/Man City…
- I’m sorry Seahawks’ fans…not really…but I’m starting to wonder if Pete Carroll is done in Seattle.
- I don’t know if I remember an NFL season when the top team in the AFC has 4 losses and NFC has 3 losses. It’s amazing to me the parity of pro football. They say it’s an 8-8 league.
