WHAT IS BIBLICAL CITIZENSHIP
Biblical Citizenship in Modern America (Patriot Academy’s course) teaches core biblical principles of government, liberty, justice, and personal responsibility, and then connects them to America’s founding documents and history. It presents citizenship as stewardship: God has entrusted us with a constitutional republic, and Christians are called to be “salt and light” in that system, not spectators.

The class gives an engaging overview of the Constitution—filmed in Independence Hall—showing how the founders’ Judeo‑Christian worldview shaped our civil framework and the protections for religious liberty we still rely on today. You also hear from pastors and Christian leaders who are actively applying these truths in current cultural and political battles, which makes the content very relevant and useful.

WHAT THE CLASS COVERS
The course runs as an eleven‑session series that blends Bible teaching, constitutional training, and American history. You learn how biblical commands about justice, work, loving your neighbor, and respecting authority connect directly to issues like law, taxation, economics, and civic engagement in a constitutional republic.

It is designed as a “quick‑start guide” to the Constitution, with plain‑language explanations of the Articles and Amendments, historical context, and stories you typically never hear in modern civics education. The emphasis is not just head knowledge: each lesson points toward action—how to vote wisely, influence local policy, support godly leaders, and, where appropriate, even run for office or serve on boards and commissions yourself.

You get biblically grounded, historically accurate teaching on America’s founding and constitutional structure, instead of relying on sound bites or partisan spin.

But when the wicked are in power, they groan (Pro29:2)" How do the citizens hold the public servants accountable? RANDELL EMBERTSON BIO
Randell Embertson, the oldest of four siblings, was raised in Roseburg, Oregon. As a member of Troop 225, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, where he developed a strong sense of civic duty and a lifelong commitment to serving his community.

He attended Oregon State University in Corvallis, earning his master’s degree while also competing on the crew team. It was during his college years that Jesus Christ became the center and Lord of his life. Soon after, he met his wife, Kaaren, and they were married.

Randell has been actively involved in a wide range of ministry roles, including college, children’s, young married, missions, and counseling ministries. His work and experiences have taken him to four continents, where he has lived abroad and engaged with diverse cultures as an educator.

He and Kaaren have been married for 25 years and have two children. Professionally, Randell works as a construction project manager and consultant. In 2023, they moved back to Roseburg to put down roots, be closer to family and began attending CLF.

Over the past 20 years, Randell has devoted himself to studying Reformation history, American history, and church history, deepening his understanding of the church’s historical influence on government. For the past 15 years, he has served as a Constitution Coach with Patriot Academy alongside Rick Green and David Barton, leading and facilitating classes such as Biblical Citizenship within his community.
