Psalm 56 is a powerful expression of trust and confidence in God in the midst of challenging circumstances. The psalm is attributed to David and is believed to have been written during a time when he was facing great adversity and persecution. Despite the difficulties he was experiencing, David’s faith in God remained strong, and he expressed his unwavering trust in God’s protection and deliverance.
The big idea of Psalm 56 is that God’s people, who are saved by His Son, can have confident hope in all circumstances because God is for us. David acknowledges his fear and distress, but he doesn’t allow them to overcome him. Instead, he turns to God, recognizing that God is on his side and is aware of his every tear, trial, and tribulation.
